Sonoma Valley High School (SVHS) is a high school located in Sonoma, California with approximately 1,350 students.[1] Dino Battaglini, Principal. Kathleen Summers, Paul Tuohy, and Andrew Ryan, Vice Principals. Sonoma Valley High School is part of the Sonoma Valley Unified School District.

Academics

Sonoma Valley High School offers several academic classes. The school offers Advanced Placement (AP) courses, including AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Physics, AP US History, AP World History, AP Calculus AB, AP Statistics, AP English Language (11th grade) and Literature (12th grade), AP Spanish Language (11th grade), AP Spanish Literature (12th grade), and AP Computer Science A.

Career and Technical Education

Along with providing the important academic classes, SVHS provides several Career and Technical Education classes. We offer classes in the Agriculture and Natural Resources Industry, Hospitality, Tourism and Recreation Industry, Manufacturing and Product Development Industry, Building Trades and Construction Industry, Arts, Media and Entertainment Industry, Education, Child Development and Family Services Industry and Finance and Business Industry Sector.

Sonoma Valley was named a California Distinguished School in 1994.[2]

Athletics

SVHS sports include: Football, Volleyball, Soccer (B&G), Tennis (B&G), Water Polo, Cross Country, Basketball (B&G), Wrestling, Softball, Baseball, Track & Field, and Golf (B&G).

The SVHS Mascot is the Dragon.

Student Activities

The Leadership Class is in charge of organizing student activities. Such activities include rallies, convention, dances, and carnivals.
